Did a search but couldnt find anything regarding my problem. I finally got my PTE 550's today and was in the process of installing them when I noticed the gray metal brackets (4 pronged) that connect the injector to the fuel rail no longer will fit around my 550's. Its the piece that is actually behind the injector so its difficult to see. Hope someone knows what im talking about. Do i need that piece any longer now that I have bigger injectors? Thanks :dsm:

One more question...everyone says to just life the fuel rail out to make things much easier. I cant get mine to lift any higher both the metal feed and return lines coming out of the side of the rail are stuck in there making it impossible to lift any higher. Are those supposed to come out of the rail in order for me to be able to lift it higher? Thanks again :dsm:

I just did the same injectors in my 99 gsx. yes, remove the return and feed and you can take it out of the vehicle. thats how i did mine, took the rail out, and cleaned it really well with a wirebrush on the outside, shined her up nice, just don't get any debris in there! you also do the fuel pump and an afpr? i hope so, with the injectors and afpr before i installed my walbro the pressure was dropping clear down to 20psi. i was just testing before I did the walbro. oem pump is ghey! :p

Ok well i just wanna double check because my car is goin in for a dyno session next friday...they seem to be stuck in there and ive tried to force them out with my hand should i just use a wrench and wiggle them out slowly?

Dissconnect both the feed and return lines and then lift up/wiggle the fuel rail and it should come out injectors and all.

PS DO NOT lose the 3 plastic spacers that go in between the fuel rail and the head.

Ok so ive finally had a chance to get back to work again on the car. I tried like hell to remove both the feed and return lines. Where exactly do you remove them. The last thing I want to do is break such an important part. Do you just force the metal feed and return lines out of the fuel rail or do you disconnect the line somewhere else? I removed the bolts holding the brackets down on both lines and ive tried to pull the metal line out of the fuel rail but it wont budge.

I changed my injectors about 3 days ago. Didnt take me more then 10 minutes at the most. I had FIC 750's dont know how the change compared to yours but all I did was remove the little clamp from the fuel return line, unbolt the 3 bolts holding the fuel rail and then lift and place ontop of the intake with the fuel feed line still in place. Removed old injectors and replaced with new ones. Install is reversed.
