I put some new injectors in my car today and need to know if it is necessary to put the metal clips that were on the stock injectors on my new ones. I am wondering because I can't get them on. Also, everything will work all right if I lost one of the fuel rail spacers shouldn't it?

Most people don't have the clips anymore. Once in awhile, you should pop the hood and make sure the clips are snug on the injectors.

For the rail of the injector? Either way you should replace it but if it's for the rail you have to ASAP because without it you can't torque the rail down.

The guy that posted first gave you the ansewer you needed. Just for a lil confidence I have had mine like this for over a year now without any effects. My lil clips would not fit around my new injectors either. I may have been anble to force them on but then they would bend and not do what they are meant for. Also whats the worst that could happen a cap pops off you run a 3 cylinders for a second you pop your hood refasten the clip and your on your way 30 seconds later.

I just put in injectors over the holidays, and while searching I came across a guy who said his fuel rail broke into two pieces without the center black spacer. So i suggest getting one pretty soon, also just RTV them onto the manifold so you won't lose them when you try to put the rail on.

We are talking about the metal injector retaining clip correct and not the spacers that go under the fuel rail bolt bosses?
