hey guys, i am getting ready to put a fmic on my gsx....
my question is: i was looking at these two styles of ic"s... the traditional style fmic with the inlet on 1 side and outlet on the other and the other is a fmic with both inlet and outlet on the same side...im going to keep the core the same size but i was wondering if anyone had any experiance with the fmic that has in/out on the same side and what the pro's and con's were for the two...
i did search but could not find what i was looking for!
thanks guys:thumb:

My mkIII supra has a Speaco ic with the tanks with the in/outlet on the same side, it is good for up to 700hp. Its is only about 3in thick, 6in high, and about 15in long. So I think the pro is its power ability for its size and the plumbing is easier and shorter IMO because the endtakes take the Place of the ic pipes. The Road Race fmic uses the same core http://test.dsmtuners.com/parts/product_info.php?cPath=2_136_32&products_id=117 to help you understand what I mean by the endtanks taking place of the traditaionl long lower ic pipe for the in with opposite endtanks.

thanks guys, thats what i was wondering? if anyone had known of the performance...well if the supra can put 700 hp through it,it must be a prettd good design.thanks

I have the same top/bottom core and it does a good job cooling with much less radiator blockage (e.g. overheating issues).

I would be highly suspect of a 700WHP Supra not heat soaking this core very quickly as though it will flow ample air for that power level (at lwo backpressure), the heat transfer area is just not that big for sustained cooling of 1000cfm airflow at 350F+ .

As is the case, I would deem it a very good street core for turbos up to 50-trim (which is what I currently run) :dsm:
