Ya i hate last minute stuff like that! You always have a deadline and every damn time it gets pushed back! Thats why i didnt go to the track 2 weeks ago.

I am untuned as well. Everything is zero'd out with dsmlink at 10psi, a/f ratio is like 10.3-11.0 through the pull so everything seems good. I havent really done any logs yet, im really not trippin because i have no knock. Im just going to log at the track and see if mastertuner dave has any advice for me.

Brian! get that car running and call in sick to a track meet or something! Come out to the real fun track.

Ok well it rained today. Weather.com still says no rain for sonoma tomorrow. I called my friend at Jiffy Lube and he can't make it out. He had the day off but the other manager got sick so he has to fill in now.
Im still down to run. Im going to top off my t-case with fluid today and maybe change a few settings in dsmlink.

Dave are you still down to go tomorrow?
Anyone else want to go?

i plan on running the weekend following with my new car. if everything goes according to plan...the car will be running and tuned by then. anyone wanna come with?

What's up KIDS?! Hey Danny, I talked to Dave this evening and I'm planning on going up to Infineon tomorrow with him. So you really should go. We'll have a good time.:)

RON you SOB where the F have you been? Playin soccer i bet!

OK for sure ill go now. You hafta check out my new setup, you will be proud! You disappeared again for my entire build!

Im going back and forth wondering if i should bring my helmet or not, i dont think i will, if i hit a 13 tomorrow i'll park the car and watch the rest of the night, i highly doubt it will happen, but i wouldnt want to jinx anything.

Anyways, good stuff, i'll be there tomorrow like 2:30-3:00

I plan on going, too. Weather looks good! I won't be racing. I'm bringing my camera so I can take a few vids. Launch it hard, Danny, I want to see some action!

Pretty successful night, i had some $hitty 60 foot times, but overall not bad for 10 psi.

Run 1 - 14.1@97. 2.08 60ft
Run 2 - 14.2@96. 2.09 60ft (i had to lift in 2nd and 3rd because my knock CEL came on)
Run 3 - 13.9@97. 1.92 60ft
Run 4 -
Dial - 13.80
R/T - .086
60' - 1.881 (a little better, but still needs work)
330' - 5.618
660' - 8.747
MPH - 79.28
1000 - 11.436
MPH - ?????
1/4 - 13.731
MPH - 98.38

Not bad for 10psi, minimal tuning (Thanks Dave!) and OK driving. Hey it was my first night of the season!

so who's ready for the 28th? I know dave still has to put his saftey equipment on before he brings the beast back out.

Paul, whats up with you and alex and max? Most everyone has day jobs now damnit!

Mahesh, where have you been at!? Your car has to be ready by now!

Brian, pole vault your a$$ to infineon!

ha, i guess my unemployed a$$ is the only one availible

mahesh is in india for 2 weeks. or i guess 1 week left.

tstkl...he never wants to let go of that pole.

i'll add myself to the list...i want to go..but i don't expect to have traction with my 225's. maybe in the summer when i get my new wheels.

nice! i want to see if i can hit a better 60 ft, fix my tune a little and see if i can get a little faster (maybe match my previous 13.5) on 10psi.
Either that, or i'll put my fuel mods in and test n tune with a little higher boost.

Haha, I'm back... the white car's down getting some work done to it. Needs a new alternator, pulling out the AC and installing a FMIC. After that, I expect some tranny problems.

After that, I expect some tranny problems.

haha, dont we all mahesh. Im more concerned about my 190k 3-bolt that ive beat up over the last 2 years, now that ive thrown a welded diff in the mix its going to die soon.

well, my o2 sensor died, so i went to the stealership to get one and my injector "insulator" seals. I dont think im going to make it to the track this week. I want to throw my fuel mods in and get my trims in line and everything so that i can play with more boost next time at the track. I guess i figured out why my car was acting all wierd fuel wise, the o2 sensor was on its way out. Either that or my trims were all weird from my over-ran fpr and that killed the o2 sensor... either way it died and imma tune my fuel trims soon.

BTW, the ugly chick at the serramonte Mitsubishi gave me a pretty good discount, partly because of my whiteboy charm and partly because ive been going there for a while and dropped some names of their employees from like 4 years ago. Then i mentioned club dsm and dsmtuners (which she never heard of) and i guess that sealed the deal. She saved me like 80 bucks. Best experience ive ever had at the stealership, however they wont fix my damn t-case recall because its not "safety related".... i would think that all 4 wheels locking up on the freeway would be safety related, but oh well, i'll bite the bullet and fix my damn t-case yolk myself.

Omg I soooooo want to go this season. I'm being optimistic about it though because I finally getting my car rebuilt at Newlogics so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that it runs great once it's done.

One of these Wed nights I'll head out there with some DSM friends (who mostly have Evo's now), and I'll get some times up!!!

Paul practically built my car. (hes done most of the work on the car) So you should have a solid running car. There are only a few people that i trust working on my car, me, my friend Kahfae, Dave(nice portwork!), and Paul. (ive heard good things about sean and would probably trust him, but ive never had him do any work on my car yet).

Tell paul to hop to it and finish your car and at the same time tell him, max, and alex to take a damn wednesday off so we can all go and race!

I'm thinking of going out this Wed. Anyone else going to be ready? I thought I'd put out some advanced notice so you could plan ahead.

My Talon isn't ready yet so I'll bring out ol' project mpg. I just hit a new personal best in the old beater and I wanted to show the gang at GasSavers.org that good mpg doesn't have to be slow. BTW anyone have a pair of drag radials I could borrow/rent for a day or two?

I think if i dont have work i'll be willing to go with ya. Ive been real lazy with the car lately and i havent installed any parts. If I can do it in class this week at school I will but if not i'll try to do it anyways. But if im lazy and i do reserve the right to be lazy because the car runs good as it is, i'll just go try to drive the shit out of the car and see if i can run better than a 13.7. Maybe try to break my old 13.5, But then i think that it isnt woth the $30+ on raceday to just go to the track on 10psi, i need to get off my ass and install my damn fuel mods!

Drag radials.... shootin for 12's dave? (you better get some good old 100octane or some leaded gas if you are)

Yup, shootin for 12's! :) I already have the mods, I'm running 20psi on 91 octane daily. A few gallons of 100 octane would be just right. But the tires are really old and nearly bald, they don't hook up at all, even second gear just spins at half throttle. I'd be lucky to hit a 2.5 60' time with them. I could swap the front wheels off my Talon and maybe hit a 2.2 60' time if I can remember how to launch a fwd car.

Here's an idea; how about if I leave the old tires on the car and run it as is, and you do the same? We'll see who goes faster! Cripple fight! :)

haha, cripple fight like southpark. I might have to throw a couple gallons of 100 octane in so i can throw some more timing at the car (that might somewhat even the playing field since you are running 2x the boost!) ... that might net me a 13.5 I wasnt getting much timing up top before because of the duty cycle and lean a/f with 91 octane causing a little knock, so hopefully with the higher octane i can bump up the timing with the same tune and run a little faster.
Im down for the challenge. One other thing im looking into is a CAI setup. I cant remember if my friend has a dejon pipe setup for a 2g mas, if he does im gonna buy it off of him so i can fab up a CAI with a 90*bend to a filter in the SMIC location. That should help with airflow and intake temps a lot and probably put my IDC's over the edge again. That is only if my friend has his intake pipe still... and if he'll sell/lend it to me. If not then i gotta wait a while before i order one to make myself a CAI setup.

Ah I got my car back from Paul on Thursday. I only have a little more than 200 miles on it so far so I still have a while to go but so far it's doing pretty good other than some small issues. I'm getting that P0300 CEL so I have to remedy it on the highway (had to drive back from Vallejo to San Jose trying to vary the RPMs at the same time not boosting).

I talked to my frend and he said he's prob not gonna go till summer. That'll probably be the case for me cause I'm planning to buy DSMLink among other mods. I also want to address the ic pipiing issue that came along with 6bolt swap.

break that sucker in, and get it running right (no codes) then bring it out to the track for a baseline run. It will be nice to see how much you can improve tuning with dsmlink and a studderbox and all the goodies that come with it.

yep they have it at the pump. Guarenteed leaded gas. Im not exactly sure if they have 100unleaded, i want to say they do, but im not going to make any promises on this one. Dave might be able to fill you in since he plays with the leaded stuff in his talon quite frequently.

Any luck with slicks dave?

Yes, they have several grades of high octane gas at the track. You can get standard 91 octane, 100 unleaded, leaded 116, and there's a few other blends. It's dispensed from typcal gas pumps so you can pay with your debit/credit card.

No word on slicks or drag radials yet. How's your car doing? Any luck finding an intake that works with a 2G maf? I think I saw one at Home Depot the other day. :)
