Ok Bay Area guys, started a new thread and made a decision.

When: OCTOBER 19th

What: Wednesday Night drag

Time: Gates open at 3:30 p.m., racing spans from 5 p.m.-10 p.m. I believe practice runs start at 12 but I'm not sure. If anyone has that info please let me know.

Cost: $20 competitors, $15 for students with their high school identification card, $10 spectators

We could all go up there together like meet some where in the East Bay or something. After we can all garb something to eat. You don't need to run your car to come. All people are welcome. The more the merrier. Anyone with a driver's license can compete, providing their vehicle or motorcycle passes a simple technical inspection. All vehicles must have mufflers. Three-hundred cars are allowed to compete each Wednesday night so if some of us want to race we got to get there early. I was thinking of meeting somewhere convenient for everyone. Here are the directions:Directions It seems like taking Highway 101 would be the easiest. Are anyone of you close to 101 or 80 or 37? I live in Oakland (East Bay) so I'd have to go from 880 to 580 to 101 or 880 to 80. I don't know how far you guys are willing to meet up and how far away you guys live. Post up and we can get more organized.
 
I really really want to go...but my setup wont be ready by Oct 19. :notgood:
I thought I would be ready by the 2nd week of October but turns out shipping is going to take a while simply because they need a week to fabricate the turbo and another week to ship it...and then i gotta install/tune, which is going to take a big longer.
I hope everything is ready by Oct 19, but so far doesn't look like it.
 
Those are just rules...Infineon is not super strict, I'm sure they will let you race.
Is not like your car is leaking oil or running in bad condition then they won't let you race. I've seen muscle cars with tinted windows worse than 30% percent and they still race. Sucks that i can't go though, maybe next time or if you guys delay it a big longer i can go :sneaky:
 
Hey, I haven't posted a whole lot on here but I would really like to meet some of you guys and get a chance to see just what my 1/4 mile is. I would definately be down to go. I have a question though: Does anyone know if I would be allowed to run since I have tinted side windows? It says on the site in the rules that they don't allow tinted side windows, so a friend e-mailed them (he also has tinted side windows) to see if it would be ok, but they didn't really give an answer. Just said to come up and they'd see. But I would hate to drive all the way up there and not be able to run. They are only 30% on the sides. Thanks.

What's up GSTDoIt ! I think i met you over at the 969motorsports Drive in San Carlos. My buddy owns part of that shop. I was the filipino dude in the white Bimmer that approached you when I saw your 2g. I'm waiting for my DSM to get out of the shop right now (new setup), but I won't be able to make it to any Wednesday night drags. I'll be down for a test and tune on a weekend schedule when it happens :thumb:
 
GSTDoIt I replied answering your question but for some reason it showed up before your post, not after....I think is due to the servers being down every now and then...I CAN READ THE FUTURE.
 
ive ran at infineon many many times with my 20% tint on the front windows they dont care.. all they car about is if you have an open exhaust or not, and other rules like the right helmet if you are running 13's or lower... i might be able to make it that wed if i can get my parts on in time... or if i dont put them on in time! ha also gotta see what my work schedule is like but if i do go id probably be with a couple other 1g's... on a side note does anyone know any 76's besides the one in san jose that has 100octane gas at the pump??

sick i wanna go but my car isnt registerd ill try and bum a ride from a coworker\dsmer :thumb:
 
Damn I really wanted to go as well...But.
1. Car not registered yet...had junk title from DMV. Still working on getting it registered.
2. Doing a clutch swap ASAP...slipping very badly.
3. Wednesday are hella hard to come out and make it. I work 9-5 M-F. Is Infineon every open on Weekends like for Test and TUne...I think they used to have that.

In any case hopefully I'll meet up with some Local DSMers some other time.
 
This sounds like alot of fun and I'd love to go but its my girlfriends 21st birthday on tuesday and I think the family is going to take her out on the 19 for a birthday dinner. Maybe next time and by then maybe I'll have a new clutch, intercooler, turbo and fuel pump in.

It does not open at 12. The gates do open at 3:30. That is when practice starts. The closer to 3:30 you get there, the more runs you will have. Wednesday nights they have bracket racing that starts at 5:00. That is when you pick a time and try to run it consistently to win.

I usually go as early as I can so I can get runs in and leave. I don't really care about the bracket racing. It is fun as hell!!!

I was planning on going to Infineon anyways, just to watch. I just hope my car is running by then, somethings wrong with my injectors. :cry: If so count me in.

Oh also I saw two nice 2g eclipses at Infineon tonight. Anyone from here?
 
Turns out I might be able to go if I can get my setup done this week :thumb: is a 50/50 chance right now, but i'll try to get my car ready.
Can we wait another week ? I'll be ready for sure if we do :p
 
Yeah we could change the date but again I'm gonna have to check with work. My friends MK3 Supra is getting new parts and needs some time too. What other day is good?
 
Only time I'd be able to hit the track is on a Saturday. The only place I can make that happen is at Sacramento Raceway for a Test and tune or Grudgefest. All I see on Infineon's calendar for the rest of the year is Wednesday Night Drags.
 
I am definately down to go, but I would need to know a day for sure so that I can request the day off from work. As it stands I have the 19th off already. I've never been to there before so if we could do some sort of caravan up there? So I can head up with someone who's done this before? Thanks.
