Inspecting my engine after tare down I find this ...

Looks like I need to take it to the machine shop have some spec work done? What do you guys think?

Turning the Cam back and forth, I noticed the cylinder next to it does the same thing. I've also noticed they do seem to shut all the way when turning the Cam through that range.

Thinking about it more, it may just be the adjustment of the lifters. The engine has been sitting for about 6+ months without being started because of being stored. Is my though process off here?
 
Depending on how the cams are position in the head, you will have one pair of intakes open and one pair exhaust valves open.

Look at the valves that are open, then the cam lobes for that cylinder, it should be one the toe of the cam, if it is on the heel / base circle of the cam, then you will have issues.

Also from what I can see, you have NON-OE valves, But from the pic, I can not tell if they are SS or not.

LoL Bogus :ohdamn:, thanks for the refresher, but I was referring to this ...

In the chamber to the left, it looks like one intake valve is open while the other is closed. Not good. The valve could be bent or siezed in the guide.
That's what I was pointing out, although, this head is in perfect condition. I ran the 10.7 last season, drove the car home and put it up for winter. Just got around to tearing it down for a refresh, and seeing this. I think it's due to the lifters and how each one may have bled off at a different rate while sitting there. Or possibly just how they adjusted right before the engine was shut off.

Yes Bogus, they are aftermarket Ferrea 1mm oversize valves.

I was posting up here about it to see if anyone else has came across a similar situation. I will be tearing down the head just to verify my assumption is the case, when I get the time.
