just got my car back together and the maft, safc2 hooked up and set to a starting point and i have a few problems. i let the car warm up to o/t and it idles around 1200 rpm but on my safc2 it says like 600-700 rpm and every once and awhile it will idle down and a/f ratio will just to 18:1+. so high it wont show up on the guage. but it will idle up again and be at 14.5:1ish. its not idle surge i know that. anywho, my pocketlogger will show 100% on all fuel trims. when i change the % on the safc on the low throttle the a/f guage will change but like i said the fuel trim on the logger will always say 100%. i have been working on cars for like 8 years but i'm new to tuning. i printed off a piggy back tuning guide off the vfaq and followed the initial setup for the safc and i know the maft is set up for the 440 but i'm just wondering why the rpm on the safc is wrong and why when i change the settings on it, it doenst show up on the logger. and i do wait at least 2 minutesfor the values on the logger to change. thanks in advance.

The SAFC is installed incorrectly, If you used one of the outputs for the power transistor then you only see half of the ignition events and you'll have to set the SAFC for 2 cylinder mode. You should use the ignition pulse detect input to the ECU (pin 109) or the CAS input for RPM.

The short term feedback (FTO2) will change directly with the changes to the corrections but it takes time for the long term fuel trims to be averaged in and they require that the coolant temp => 186F among other things.
