After replacing my old fuel filter I ran into the inevitable "hard line that runs into fuel leak" syndrome. I have tighten it as tight as it can be without breaking with a line vice grip.

Options are:Import Evolution

or to go ahead and replace my whole tank to rail line: STM | 90-99 DSM FUEL TANK TO RAIL KIT

I tried searching on Import evolution's kit and can't find anything recent. Anyone have any experience with it at all? I would be looking at the one with gauge. I'm hoping if I do get this kit will it cure my sealing issue problem as I think it's the nut on the hardline not sealing.

Goals are 500whp in the future track car only so I will be definately be going with a 6AN line eventually. Should I just go big and get the STM kit and not have to worry about stupid hard lines again :ohdamn:

thanks

After thinking about and seeing all the responses it seems the best idea would be to replace the whole line. To verify with the STM kit, the stock fitting on the fuel sender will work with STM's kit correct?

Thanks guys

Many people have made over 500hp using the stock hardline, so why not save some money and just get a nice feed line like this?

This is true but to avoid any issues dealing with that hard line might as well do it right the first time.

But that does look like a nice kit.

Any verification on STM fittings to stock fuel sender?

I'm still researching things.

Thanks

No problem, I hate that kit and it fits, looks, and performs excellent. Granted I'm not near 500whp yet, but Mr. Peepers for example are making over 500whp with the stock hard line and OEM fuel filter.

You could also do what i did and make your own and save a few bucks as well!

I have the Import Evo one (3 years and counting). But I would go with STM kit if I was shooting for 500, too.

Iused the IEfuel lab 818 kit with -6 SS from filter to rail, then used -6 blue pushlock from tank to filter.. you can just cut that damn fitting off and clamp the pushlock or plain -6 SS line over the stock outlet (i even replace the outlets with larger tubing on my own builds, except i haven't on the new AWD tank/hanger) but this is said to be good for a bit over 600hp on ethanol when i brought it up asking on forums while planning the build.. not only is the blue -6 cheaper by far but it's easier to work with, and clamps better at the pump outlet... I use small pieces of it instead of o-rings inside the hanger too for the pump to hanger connection, them o-rings never seem reliable and i'm not losing a built engine due to going lean because that o-ring moved AGAIN (had it move and drop my fuel pressure to a max of anywhere from 20-35psi on different occasions...never again!)

The SS -6 doesn't take well to hose clamps i've found, i think the braiding keeps the clamp frombeing able to exert it's full clamping force through to the inner rubber line.

And you may think just pushing -6 over the line out of the hanger is ghetto, but i've ran for years this way (i added a second clamp for safety measured but it's held fine - just cut that threaded piece off and viola, there you go... plus those threaded areas and connections are smaller and restrict flow, get em out of there)

For the return i cut the fittings off the OEM feed line and used rubber hose to connect it from the bottom of my IE AFPR kit (aeromotive regulator ) and then used another piece of rubber fuel line to hook it to the tank's return, this kept fuel pressure perfectly in check on both the FWD tank and AWD tank while running dual wally 255hp's (drilled siphon on AWD)
