Whenever i start my car it Putts, and can smell fuel. Checked Spark plugs and Plugs 1 and 4 have White spots on them.. Is that Pre Ign. or Dett. Or is it just a total Time problem.

that is from pre ignition

does the car run or not? pre ignition is a condition where the temperature inside the cylinder gets so hot that hot spots form all over and the air/fuel mixture is ignited before the spark plug fires (if you pull the plug, the electrode will be melted).. detonation is the "ping" noise you will hear, which is the violent, uncontrolled explosion inside the cylinder due to inadequate octane fuel (too low).... either one of these are problems that should not be left alone.. the "putting" and smelling fuel could be a timing problem, possibly the exhaust cam being a tooth off or so... you'll know if a cam is out of time because the car will run like straight up ass...

The car does start, but runs like crap. Even when i give it gas, the rpms die down and nearlly cuts off, then it starts to pick up. But still runs really bad. I dont even drive it now. So Preignition, and check Time. ill get back to ya after i check for this. Thanks

LOL....check your MAF harness of the intake. When those are not in all the way or off, your car is going to run 100 percent pure crap. The ecu uses the MAF to sensor how much air is going into the car at what temp to determine how much fuel is going to be added. Make sure your intercooler pipes are tightened. I had a couple loose on a uicp and my car did the same thing

so in summary

-check the MAF harness
-check Vaccum lines
-check spark plugs

spark plugs can give alot of info on how a car is running. If you want, take a plug out, take a picture, and email it to me and I will help out as much as I can. take a pic of the wire too

I was using the bosh spark plugs because i didnt want to mess up my new NGK. I think the gap was at .30. I am in Florida right now, so when i get back to HI i will send ya the pics of the plugs and stuff. They all fire, and Wires work good. I think it is a Major timing problem.
