i'm picking the GST tomorrow so i gotta get a few more things for the tune up on it. picked up the plugs last night (NGK ix plug's cant remember the number but they were a stock app.)

but the wires the store carried were 7mm. i wanna go atleast 8 since i have bad luck with wires arcing from each other. i could order acell but they were 63 bucks. not a bad deal if there a good set of wires. i ran them on my 95 GT when i had it and they worked fine for the most part. i could have also ordered some 10mm one from a company i never heard of.

so i was wondering they they make a high powered coil upgrade for the 90 gst? or is stock enough for it. also does any one make a set of really nice wires for these cars?

when most ppl upgrade ignition on our cars the get the coil on plug set up where you have individual coil packs over each plug i think its called cdi system or something, and most drag racers and serious enthusiasts go that route. Most of that msd stuff is normally used by ppl with distributers.

CDI = Capacitive Discharge Ignition, which refers to an ignition system/box, not the coil set-up.

Wrong. MSD has many systems and products available for almost any combustion engine. For example; a popular upgrade for DSM's is the MSD DIS-II ignition box.

SRTthis - For plug wires, pick up a set from MSD, Accel, or NGK. :thumb:

If there is one non-weak link in the DSM every year it was made, it is the ignition system. I rode in a 700+hp car two weeks ago that still uses the stock coil, did have a DIS-2 though. I personally have been running the NGK wires for about 4 years now and so far am pleased with them, especially for the price.
