can anybody tell me where the ignitoin transistor is located on a 1gb? And if it was bad would i only be getting spark in 2 cylinders? i just replaced the plugs wires and a new coil and im still only getting spark in 2 cylinders.

Ok its below it, should be a black box attached to the head in the rear, keep looking. Could be a bad ecu, or wiring, or transistor pack.

I had same problem 2new coils later it ended up being the ignition transistor

Good to know you've found the (a) culprit. Replace the PTU and see what happens.

replaced it and the car started cranking faster but still wont start. tomorrow im going to see if im getting spark in all 4 cylinders. and im going to check for spark and then check my gap size

Mine doin same thing ever figure out what it was??

no im working on it rite now i just spent like $500 on parts and still no start

i bought three used transistors and all of them were bad, first 1&4 weren't sparking then i put in 1 of the three i bought then 2&3 didn't spark i did this two more times but but both of them wouldnt spark in 1&4 so im thinking buy a brand new transistor? i gapped my plugs at .28 and my firing order is correct. does anybody know if the transistor would act up from being cold? and i should just be able to just drop in the transistor and ride right?
