ok,, im working on my talon, rebuild motor and turbo, stock everything, 14b, compression, the works, i dont have the timing cover on do to im always pulling it off, but my problem is the car does not have any power, at idle, it all the way to 2,000. but going down the road it is very quick, if i turn the CAS so it idle at 1500 or lower, it has no power at all,

should i try to put the cover on and have the timing at 5degrees advance, stock,

Please set the CAS correctly to set the timing to 5* BTDC.
Check for leaks in the intake and set the BISS to get the idle down to 750 RPM. You make have to set the CAS again once you get the idle down because the ECU won't stay in set timing mode above 1200 RPM.

oh and the check engine line will come on but wont stay on, every now and then it will turn on,, i will have to wait to check it for free, because advance and auto zone dont go the low of a year,, by the way what is the BISS..?

If you look on top of the throtle boddie there will be a black rubber plug. Pop that off. You might not have it any more. If not there will be a phillips head turn that clock wise to lower rpm and counterclock wise to rais rem. There is also a black wire that needs to be jumped. Here you go BISS just to let you know for future refrence. You might want to do a full search and read before you post. :thumb:

Also, if you don't want to set the base timing by putting the lower timing cover on you don't have to. Get a timing light that has an adjustment on it and set it to 5* advance. Start the car and point the timing light at the cam gears. When the timing is at 5* the timing light will flash when the cam gear timing marks are lined up.
