ignition issue

My car will only start if you flick the key from the on position, if you do it too slowly nothing happens. I changed the battery and it helped the issue a little bit, but it still has this issue, what else could it be?

No I haven't. The only thing I have done so far was the battery, is there anything else that I should check too?

How about ignition switch?

The ignition switch is what I was thinking it might be, would I have to just get a new one to see or is there a way I could check to see if that is the problem?

Check the ignition switch connection under the steering wheel. It may be loose or there is a shorted wire on the connector.
