How much crank horsepower can the stock internals take on the 4g63?

:coy:

I couldn't find the answer in my searches.

Crank hp usually isn't discussed, but I believe the bottom end can handle 350-400whp safely, though others have gone a bit past that. Not sure on the head side.

I have heard 400HP is max but maybe one of the wiseman can tell us for sure

400 is max at basically the best tune there is. You really shouldnt push it that hard, if you do your basically asking for trouble, ya some guys have done it but they are pushing the envlope knowing the engine could blow any min.

Cut enough corners you get a circle.

500Hp

Rule of thumb on avg 450-500 is maxed out, buscher racing made 600hp a few times on the dyno but that motor gave out.

I think thats a little to much for the engine to handle, I mean look at how the engine cranks and the stroke, do you honestly think that the 4g63 could take the abuse on kind of level being just a stock motor?

Did they have any mods on the engine or was it pure stock except for turbo/injectors/ and such? How about the bottom end?

I find it hard to bealive, not impossible that it got pulled off I would just like some facts please.

I know someone running 430whp for about a year now with no problems. Very good tune with minimal amounts of knock is needed for it to be reliable. I would say 400whp reliable is the limit.

I just watched a video where they layed 500whp stock internals. They turned the boost up and they didnt even know where it was because the boost guage was pegged. They did a run and layed 540whp. Did some tuning and did another run that blew the rods out the bottom of the oil pan and the motor looked like it broke off the mounts and shot all kinds of sparks. So it has been done just not reliable

The average safety limits are 500whp for a 6bolt and 400whp for 7 bolts. I cant belive you couldnt find it in a search because it has been covered several times.
