Waterford,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me how i can tell if a 91 ecu is eprom. I got it off a parts car that i have and i was j/w how can i tell if it is eprom. Thanks

there is a vfaq for that. you should try erching there.
i think taht most of the eprom ecus have an E in the lower right corner of the label. the only way to tell for shure is to open it and see if it has one.

Unscrew the cover of the ecu and see if there's a large rectangular chip on there with a sticker that says E### (it doesn't actually say ###, it will have numbers there). If you hold the ecu with the plug facing up, the eprom chip is in the bottom right corner of the board. If you have a blank spot there instead, then you don't have an eprom.
