I'm knew to the forum and I just bought a 91 Eclipse Turbo. For some reason it idles really high (about 1500-2000 rpm). It's only when it's cold, like in the morning, or if the car hasn't been driver in a while. If you guys have any info on this let me know.

This may be normal. My 91 Talon would always idle at about 1200 to 1500 rpm for about a minute when started up cold. Within a minute, it would drop to 650.

Your car should idle high when its cold. Thats very normal. Till the water temp gets up and levels off youw ill notice a higher rev. This goes for pretty much any car.

I wouldnt worry about it till your RPM's start climbing and droping climbing and dropping.

if youre holding a steady RPM its probably not the surge.
