1G Idle surge issue

Car: 1992 talon tsi awd

Problem: Idles Perfect when started cold then as soon as it warms up i get a horrible surge from 500 to 1000 rpms. I get a a cel at idle then as soon as i tap the throttle it goes away.

What Have Replaced/Tested:

• Boost leak test fixed shaft seals and biss. Tested again and holds tight.
• Tested the ISC every thing checked out good.
• Checked and adjusted My tps.
• Pulled the ecu out and opened it up it still looks brand new

What do you guys suggest?

Ive been going through there i was just wondering if im missing anything thats not listed there

Try pulling the TB and give it a good cleaning.

If you can find a friend with the same TB do a swap and see if the problem goes away.

My cars have 420a and 4g64 motors but the TB has caused a lot of idle problems on both of the motors.

I know yours is a 4g63 but it may be worth a try.

I just redid the shaft seals so everything is clean first thing i did when tearing it apart.

I have the exact problem you have.. My car idles like a dream then the second it hits operating temp its like a switch it starts surging like crazy. What mods are done to your car.. maybe we can figure out what we have in common and narrow it down

Is it a surge, or does it just idle up and down, up and down.

mine is a fast surge..
