I know that there are like 3 different amp alternators for the 1G's. Could I have gotten the wrong one from the parts store. The clerk thought it was weird that the 2.0 turbo car (5-speed) would use lower amps then the other versions. Could it make my car run bad if it was the wrong one? Which one is the right one for a 92 GS-T? Thanks.

Yes it's possible that your car might be sluggish if the wrong amp alt is installed. Are your lights diming, flickering on/off. It could also be a faulty alt.

Mainly it just doesn't want to hold an idle. Sounds like it's missing. I think they gave me the lowest ampage alternator, which is what the computer called for for my car.

I run awd auto alts(higher amp) on all my cars. N.T and turbo 5 speeds. I havent had any problems with idles. It sounds like a spark or sensor problem. Although, if it is because of the swap, it could be a bad alt. They have been known to be bad right out of the box.
