i recently did a new hg install, put everything back together along with a few addons such as a 38mm wastefate and a joe p mbc, went to start the car itd start then die almost right away finally got it running enough to test drive it then after about 20mins of driving or so it over heated and steamed up pretty good, not sure exactly what could be the problem, and the vac is only at 10 as wel lwhen it idles crappy, was hoping someone could shed some light on this for me

As for the vac at idle. Double check your cam timing. Just 1 tooth off will cause this.

What do you mean by steamed up pretty good? What HG & did you follow the proper torque sequence? What did you torque the head bolts to?

i got a all stock engine with the exception of the full exhaust and the external gate, followed correct sequence, and 80ft/lbs, used a felpro hg, i mean when i stop i got a cloud of steam infront of me.

I know this is stupid but I did it once. Check to make sure you Cap is on right on the upper rad hose.

did you check your oil to make sure your new gasket is'nt blowing by,,almost sounds to me like you hg is'nt sealing.. check the oil and see if you have an coolent in there. usually above the oil line on the dip stick you'll get a milky substance from mixing oil and coolant.

ill check im kinda low on oil too, my oil pan is screwed, gota buy a new one next wk.

ya i know how the oil pan thing goes i just had to fix mine. I could never get mine to seal up either.. I ended up takeing mine off and cleaned it up. put it face down on flat concrete and pounded down any uneven spots that were not flat on the mateing surface... sense i've put it back on with a new gasket i have'nt had one leak... you might want to try just fixing yours first and save the money. but thats up to you. me, I dont spend unless i have to!

massive vacuum leak off the intake, forgot to hook up BOV, i knew i forgot something! runs and idles and drives perfect, thanks for the help though guys!
