I've searched some of the other threads on this issue but all of the threads, the OP just disappears.

Issue: When coming to a stop, my car likes to stall.

Ie. when im coming to a stop, I put the car in N and slow down. When stopping I notice my rpms drop to the 300 range. More than not they will shoot back up too 1000. But Recently it has been shutting off on me.

Or when im parking sometime, ill go from 2nd to neutral to reverse. When im stopped and throw it in reverse it also shuts off. Not as much as when I come to a stop.

I don't have any way to test thinks as far as voltage and stuff. Id have to go to autozone and have them do it.

I did get them to scan my car with an obdII reader and no codes appeared.

From reading other threads, the main culprit was the IAC. I would go to a junk yard and grab one but, I honestly don't know where it is on the car or what it looks like exactly. 96 eclipse rs. Pictures would be nice.

Oh, and another thing. When I turn my AC on my idle drops to around the 300 range as well. It jumps back up but, it will start to surge from 600-1400 rpms. also when it surges it would sometimes shut the car off as well.

I had same problem with my talon. Not my turbo one. My 420a I had several years ago and my eclipse rs as well both turned out to be my tps sensor. Check into that. The way I determined that I unpluged the tsp sensor harness and the car never change change. Meaning usually when you unplug it. It engine will act up. Also when inspecting it. Inspect the wires to the harness and where it fallows. Common problem harness wire are along egr pipe and could melt over time and not just kill your sensor but your ecu as well. Had do to my talon. And retuck wires on the eclipse because I saw same thing was going happen. So I took care it before I would loose another ecu.

I looking into the TPS, When I would unplug the tps the engine acted like it wanted to die, so naturally I plug it back in. I guess we can rule the tps out? Maybe unplugging it and plugging it back in will stop it, doubt it.

I think I will check for vacuum leaks pretty soon, Ive read that that could also cause the problem
