Identify this ECU

Hello everyone, I am in the process of trying to clean up the mess of wiring on my 90' AWD and at the same time eliminating any wiring harnesses that I do not need.

The first thing I noticed after I removed my dash was a ECU on the driver side right above the junction box. Part number is MB686911. I've been thumbing through the service manual for the more than 2 hours but couldn't find anything which tell me what that is. Does anyone knows what this is?

I couldn't tell you, but your local Mitsubishi dealer probably could. If not, PM "Steve", he is the ECU god

MB686911 shows up as a speed sensor. CAPS shows that MB649318 is the RP (replacement part?) for it.

Speed sensor? Possibly for the cruise control?

Was it next to your ECU? If it's an auto tranny, I want to say it might be your TCU. Not too sure on the 1g. Sorry.

Correct, if you look in CAPS it's shown as part of the Cruise diagrams.
