I am wondering how many of you actually weld in a bung for the iat sensor as opposed to just threading a iat sensor in the tb elbow? Engineering tells me you would want the sensor tip as close to the middle of the pipe which would mean just tap the elbow and screw it in. Only problem is there is not much material to thread so it may leak. If I weld a bung in it the sensor tip will not be in the middle of the pipe and if I get it that far the bung will be a large obstruction in the pipe. I am sure I am over-thinking this...

I'm just thinking under my own knowledge here but look at how the factory Chevrolets/GM do it. Bung, not real technical mounting.

Once it's in a closed system, the air temps average out plus the air speed combats any heat radiated by the pipes themselves. Besides, the TB elbow doesn't get that hot anyway

Iat sensor is a waste of time and money, it what might help if u cruise down a hill and get like 1 degree cooler temp. Other wise just run the map sensor and call it good.

So you think that regardless of where we live, what size compressor wheel we have, what size intercooler we have, how fast we are going, .... its all the same temp?? You need to do some reading man. Waste of time and money?? I got my IAT for like $20 shipped with a pigtail, and I can get the bung welded for another $20. $40 aint a bad deal.

Thanks for the help guys.
