I am thinking of buying a brand new set of RX-7 injectors that flow 680cc. The kid says there the stock ones for the 85-87 rx-7 and they fit in a dsm. Anyone heard of this??

I know injectors from that year Turbo II RX-7s work, I had a set in my 1g a few years ago. I'm pretty sure they were 550cc, as I believe both the primaries and secondaries are 550s on the Turbo II. They were a red bodied denso style. I would also recommend getting them cleaned if they are used. And you'll want to get a set of injector plugs from that car unless you want to rig it, the plugs are slightly different.

i have the 87 turbo II 550cc injectors in my 90 gsx and they plugged in without any modification with no leaks anywhere....the injectors your refering to are from the 1st gen rx7 gsl se 84-86 injectors....i know you can swap the injectors between rx7's with no fitment issues cause my friend put those 680's in his 88 turbo II so theoretically speaking then they should drop in as well....some of those injectors actually have been flow tested to flow at 720cc.....so you might just want to go ahead and get them and give them a try....you can unplug one injector when you have them to see if they'll fit.....and if they don't then you'll just have to get the injector plugs from an rx7 and wire them in place of your car....i've heard good things about these injectors and for the price you can't really get 680's or 720's cheaper then those....

Just curious, advantage? Price? Flow? Or ease of access on product?

Alright thank you guys for your help. I ordered the 680's from a kid and i should have them by the end of the week so I will let you guys know how they turn out. Oh and i got them for 200 shipped and they are brand new so thats the advantage. :thumb:

Anyone that has put rx-7 injectors in their dsm...did you use mitsubishi o-rings and lower insulator or did you use ones from an rx-7? Also do the wire harnesses match up or did you have to splice the wires? Thanks

RX-7 injectors come in low-impedence or high-impedence... Which one do dsm need to work properly? I assume its low-impedence as a few post above it says '87 T2 injectors which are low-impendence.

Thanks,

i had a set of turbo II's for a while. 550's, they were excellent. when i got them, they were all stuck, the guy who cleans them for me said he had to leave them in cleaning solution for a couple of days, then ultrasound them twice, but they cleaned up. on my car, i used the stock seals and buffers. the tips are a tad larger and longer than stock, it was a really tight fit into the cyl head, but they went. the rubber buffer's about halfway down the injector got smashed down really good when the rail was torqued down. i was afraid the rail would break, but it all held up for quite a while. later on, i replaced them with a set of evo 6 560's, dual diffuser tips, but i think the rx7's were better. the stock electrical connectors went right on. these were low impedance.

I ran the 88 13b-T high square offset 550cc purple 195500-1370 for years on my TSi. Got them cleaned and sold them to someone on here. :thumb:

i don't get the whole low impedance, high impedence thing.. whats that mean?
i have these injectors 2 are purple, 2 are tan same part number, are they the same?

The "impendence" is the electrical resistance of the injector. You need to use low impendence injectors, otherwise you'll damage your ECU.

I have 6 of the 460cc injectors, how do you tell if they are high impedance or low impedance? I dont have a volt or ohm meter so i couldn't use that...any ideas? Brandon [VFRacing]

hey is both the 84 and 85 rx7 all models of non turbo 680 ccc low impedance. I was just wondering cuz i looked them up on advance auto parts and the 19 84 injectors are 55 dollars if those are 680s then ill go order them.

thats got to be a typeo why would the 84-85 13B-NT use a 680 injector when they only use 550's on the turbo cars

Because the 84-85 GSLSE's only had two injectors, while the 86+ had four. :)
