ok so i got my license back today YAY .. So i went to put gas in my talon and it wouldnt go over 25 in 2nd gear is that my clutch or my tranny? or is it just not warmed up yet??

Yes step on the gas first.

If you are stepping on the gas and the RPMs rise but the car doesn't seem to go any faster your clutch is fried. I would use discretion if that's the case - it'll only get worse until you replace the clutch.

now im really wondering.. one why would it get worse and two i had it in neutral and i stomped the gas and it wouldnt go past 4 grand wtf is wrong i wanna go cruise tonight? and sometime it grinds going into first .

If the car is in neutral and it wont free rev than that is definitly not your clutch. The best way to check for a slipping clutch is to be going down the highway in 5th and just step on the gas. The load will make the clutch slip if it is going bad.

I see, so the vehicle profile is not for the vehicle you are talking about.

It seem like somebody that was capable of performing the modifications to their car that you have listed in your profile, would be able to tell the difference between a slipping clutch and not being able to rev their engine past 4000 rpms.

well for one i have NEVER had to deal with clutch problems i replaced them when i bought the cars to be on the safe side. Could it be my fuel filter?

It could be a lot of things. Try to give us a more detailed description of the problem. What mods does this vehicle have? How long was the car sitting? How low was the fuel tank?

The only mods this car has is headers muffler and intake. its my teaser;) . ok it sat for a little while but i would go start it everyday the fuel level was very low as in i pulled out of my drive way and it died got it started again and touched the gas and it died. Then i put gas in it and now it is acting funny its making me mad. im looking through the manual as we speak to trouble shoot it.

If the tank is very low it increases the change of the fuel pump picking up crap from the bottom of the tank. It could have clogged your fuel filter. It could also be a number of other things causing the problem. If you haven't changed the filter in a while then it might be a good place to start and they are pretty inexpensive.

I want to thank everyone for their help i got it figured out and fixed. it was not my clutch it was my intake tube. Confused? this is a tsi but with a non turbo in it i blew the motor and im rebuilding it for a daily driver that happend was the tube from the smic was crushing at 4,000rpm so i went and bought 3in exhaust tube and bent it and made myself and intake tube.:rocks: man o man so i love the torch.
