Ok guys I think I know what the problem is so Ill list the problems Im having and then what I believe it to be. Ok, if I shift at around 4k or above in any gear...or like in 5th gear just cruising on the highway my temp spikes up about 1/2 way inbetween normal temp and over heating, then it drops back down to a little below normal. This temp reading is on the stock gauge of my 92 talon tsi so it could be wrong but Im kind of thinking its decently accurate. Also how does your guys' oil pressure gauges read when at idle and when driving...like when mine is at idle the oil pressure goes down really low then when I drive it normal(shift at 3k) it is just above the middlish line on the stock oil pressure gauge, and when I shift above 3k the pressure goes up to middle of the middle line and high pressure...the over heating and the oil is connected in this problem I believe. Also for some background info on my car, it is a stock fwd 92 talon tsi, it has an oil leak(very small and slow) at the turbo I believe at the oil feed line to the turbo. Also I changed the oil filter and oil about 5 miles ago at 3 am today just before work, and the oil level is dead balls on the full line. Also there is a dent in the oil pan from the last owner bottoming out or something like that I presume. This morning when I changed the oil I had it up on my lift and the thingy that the oil filter screws onto was loose when the filter was off but tightened up when I put the new one back on. But there is a leak from that part( not sure of the name so if anyone knows the name could you tell me). There is about a nickle size bit of oil underneath that thingy every morning when I leave for school. So Im thinking that that thingy is the problem and if I replace it it should fix the problem I have. I dont want to replace it till I hear what you guys have to say.
Thanks for any help guys
