I cant figure out why my 93 eclipse gs (fwd auto) has no turn signals. My hazards work. I've checked all the fuses, none of them are blown. I replaced the multi-switch with a known working one. I've checked the contacts of the hazard switch, and ive jiggled the hazard switch while I had a turn signal on. Nothing will get my signals to work. I dont get any indication inside the car of turn signals- no "click click" noise, nor do the green arrows light up.

I did discover a blown bulb.. but that shouldnt prevent ALL of the turn signals from working. In theory, one blown bulb would mean that one side flashes normally, and the other side should flash extra fast. It shouldnt prevent them all from working, could it?

So its not the multi-switch, not the fuses. The relay is the same relay as for the hazards. So its not that. Im pretty sure jiggling the hazard switch would have had some effect if that was the issue. What else could it be? Ive been trying to get this car on the road for two months and this is the last thing stopping me. PLEASE HELP!

Take your blinker switch off and shake it. If you hear it rattle then you snapped the plastic pin that turns the blinkers on. You should shake it violently, theres a ton of grease in there.

Or just take it apart, Mine broke like that. I super glued the pin back on and it worked for about 9months.

What is a flasher and how do i check it? I was under the impression that flasher = relay. Obviously i was mistaken... so whats a flasher?

Ive been trying to do more reading on the "flasher," as that seems to be the only thing I havent checked, but im having difficulty finding information on it. Is "flasher" another word for "relay?" Or is it a completely different part? I've read that the turn signal relay is the same relay as the hazards. But Ive also read that the car uses a separate flasher for the signals and hazards. AND i've seen the flasher referred to as the "flasher relay." So I'm very confused!

What is the flasher, and how do I check it? Do I check it by replacing it? If so, where is it located?

Im not expecting to be spoon fed information here- I really have been searching my ass off. Even if someone could differentiate between "flasher," "flasher relay," and "turn signal relay," it would be helpful. Ive replaced the multi switch. Ive checked the fuses. Replaced the blown corner light bulb. Checked the cluster lights. Checked the hazard switch. The only thing i can see left is the relay or flasher. Can anyone help me?

Upon further reading it looks like the turn signals and hazards work on separate flashers. Are they the same flasher? In other words, could I switch them? Making my hazards not work, but at the same time fixing the turn signals?

Obviously id have to get another flasher, but this would allow me to figure out if this is my problem. Is this a plausible idea?

Ok so I went to Napa and bought a new turn signal flasher. Just so were clear- this is a three prong 1"x1"x1" black little box. Not to be confused with the larger black box that is under the head unit. The larger black box is what makes the ticking for the hazards (and I assume would for the signals).

Well the part I bought, the small black three prong box, I cant seem to locate in the car. Ive done ENDLESS amounts of searching, and I can only find info on the part under the head unit. Ive looked all over the drivers foot well. Can anyone PLEASE help me?

I know this is a seriously late reply. :ohdamn:but Your turn signal relay(flasher) is located behind your radio. Just posting this for other people who may have this problem and stumble upon this thread.

Also check your hazard light switch... if it's not working right your turn signals won't work. Easiest thing is to swap in a known good one if you have it.

A bad hazard switch will do it. Mines broken but rigged up to work. See if cycling it will help or even turn on the hazard lights.
