For the past month or so my car has been running like crap. White smoke that smells like burning oil at idle, CEL 0340, car sometimes will start and die soon after, and a large hissing near my TB. I figured it was a problem building on other problems.
Last week I was messing around in the engine bay and I decided to rearrange my catch can from my PCV to IM. The line was pinching at a point due to short hosing and the nipples were tiny. A trip to home depot fixed that. I rearranged it so it didn't pinch and it was secure. After that, my car ran like a champ. No more smoking, car starts up and doesn't die, and the hissing was gone. Just two days ago, the CEL disappeared. What do you know.
I decided to check my catch can today to see how it is. I find a milky chocolate substance in there half full. Usually that accounts as coolant mixing with the oil. I checked the dipstick and it was pure oil. So now I'm confused. I checked my coolant tank which I keep at max fill line. It was 2mm below fill line so I lost some coolant. Should I be expecting a blown head gasket?
