Well i was installing my intake and i looked into the turbo and my blades are double, i think i read somewhere 16g's are like that is that true??

The turbo was in the car when i bought it so i don't know

I'll try and get some pics but is there any other way to tell if it's 16g or not?

sorry i forgot to add that it does say TD05h it also has like a turbonetics bend that goes to a intercooler pipe that seems to be made not stock.

if it says tdo5, and its double finned, then its a 16g.

ha, the same thing happed to he. looked at my turbo and it was a 16g. i bought the car thinking it was stock. i should have know bu the aftermarket LICP.

so as long as it says tdo5h its a 16g right, will that make it a small or large, if all it has to say is tdo5h, ie got a 16g in my car, h#!! yea
Nope, if it says TDO5H it could be a 14b, small 16g, or big 16g. 14b's have single fins and 16g's have double fins. And you can't tell the difference between a small16g and big16g without taking the turbo apart and measuring.

a lot more than just the 16g have the td05h housing. and correct me if i am wrong b/c i am not 100% positive but i believe the 16g fins alternate big and small when u look at em.

naaaaa that sounds like a 14b and from the sounds of it it has too much shaft play. Ill trade ya for my 14b no play. PM for shipping :D

Stupid newbie question # 23398974 : What is the difference between the turbos? 14g, 16g, 16g big, etc. Which are the "smallest" which are the "biggest". Sorry to jump in the middle of this thread but I thought it might be a good time to ask.
Thanks

"smallest" to "biggest"

14b, s16g, b16g
They all share the same compressor (TDO5H) and exhaust housings. They only difference is in the compressor wheel. 14b's have equal length compressor fins while 16g's have alternating lengths. This is a 14b:

This is a 16g

Now, the only difference between a s16g and a b16g is the size of the compressor wheel and the only way to tell the difference is to take the turbo apart and measure. Match it up to these specs to see which one you have: http://www.vfaq.com/mods/Turbo-compare.html

ah i dont want to hijack this thread but, my turbo says td04h on the housing yet, the blade is double finned and the guy i bought it from says its a big 16g ported and clipped by TRE.

that hurts.... are you sure? my car pulls like a mother and there is no way in hell im running a stock turbo... especially one that boosts up to 25psi without knock....something is fishy here....
