I think I got hosed on this manifold....

I just bought a supposed Evo 3 Exhaust manifold. I think i got hosed...
Here are some pictures

I dont really remember what he told me about it other than the fact that its what he claims: Evo 3 manifold.

He also painted it with high temp a flat black

Sorry, can't help you to distinguish between an evo mani or not, but at least it's a second gen manifold. Worse comes to worse and it's not, just port that baby out and you'll be good to go. Also I don't think a coat of paint would be enough to hide a crack, but you never know. Where'd you get it from, ebay or local?

Yeah you got hosed. That is a 2g manifold. Your collector measurement gives it away. Plus the physical appearance of the collector looks small.

You're correct, that is a 2G manifold not an Evo 3. I have my 2G here in the house. I just measured the diameter of the collector opening and it is 53mm just like the one in your picture. I don't know the diameter of collector opening on the Evo mani but I do remember comparing it side by side with the 2G before install and it was noticeably bigger.

yeah the flange where it bolts to the head is way to small. my evo 3 manifold has a real thick flange

Make him give you the money back and keep the manifold or make him pay shipping back. Leave it at that. If you need to, get legal on him. $80 is not worth a potential fraud charge.

He emailed me back and is willing to give me my money back but he wants me to send the mani first. I told him i'll send the mani when I get the money. I'm not trying to screw anyone....

Ok he's giving me issues. He wants me to send the manifold back and then he send the check. I want him to send the check and then i'll send the manifold.

He's the one who ####ed up. He said his friend bought the manifold as an evo 3 and he bought it from him.

Anyone have any solutions...he doesnt' have paypal.

Its like this...
he could be pissed cus i called him out and what not and keep the check. He doesnt' have ANY feedback on any of the sites... He DID send the manifold but I wasn't all that friendly when I felt like I was getting scammed...ya know?
Its also like him buying the manifold back from me... why would I screw him? I dont want a 2g mani or I would have bought one...?

Tell him to tear up the check and youll send the manifold back. If you see the check has been cashed, you can get him in eBay as a non sending seller. Id check on eBay to be more clear first....

Have him send the check directly to your bank, then he calls the bank and tells them to hold the check until you bring them a reciept from the shipping company of your choice.
