ok- i took my 1999 gst in for new turbo upgrade vpc super afc fmic and supporting mods.... it runs fine around the block and stop light to stop light but when gettin on it hard and you let off the gas it dies...

i already did some research and it is not the blow off valve and yes it is vented to the atmosphere but even re directed it still does the same thing.. also another friend of mine said it could be the ignition it is not that ethir.. the tuner that is working on it is stumped and is trying to fix it but he has had it for 2 weeks with the same problem of it dying after the car is reved high, and let off the gas. and i wanted to know if any of you might know what it coud be or how to remedy it?

if i need to write any more mods etc to give you a better idea of somthing let me know, Any information at all would be greatly appreciated..

How much PSI do you run when you do this. I am thinkin BOV... even though you tried it with it vented and without, if the BOV doesnt open soon enough or let enough air out it could fire enough back pressure to stall the turbo and cause hesitation. I can see this happening at high boost pressures = high impeller speeds. If higher boost levels were included in your modification schedule you may wanna look at that. Otherwise pbbly the VPC, I just dont see enough info to give a better answer.

check the connections on the vpc
are you runnin an afc with it as well?
if not you need to, that could be part of problem due to the vpc dumping fuel

BTW you don't need to run the bov in a closed system with a vpc. its fine the way it is

thanks for the hep it is runin like 18+ psi and i am using a super afc.. checked the connects and they all seem to be fine i am really stumped and so it my tuner..? any more guesses or info would be much appreciated thanks for giving my your ideas..:dsm:

my guess is, did u upgrade ur fuel pump, ur super afc has to be tuned right so it runs right. one of my team members is really good at this. let me know if u want him to do this.. we're in palmdale. he'll probable do it for free. but we all would be willing to check it out.. yes palmdale cali... laters... eclipsekid1

Okay, a lot of people are throwing out speculative answers to your problem without any real good information to go on.

One thing I need to get straight - you DO have a Vein Pressure Converter (replaces your MAS), correct?

When your car dies in this manner, is it in gear or have you pushed in the clutch after flooring it?

What does your car normally idle at?
