Okay, so here's the deal guys and girls. I bought a 95 GST for $1000 with a spun rod bearing about three months ago, and immediately starting gathering parts to make the car a true street contender. I bought comp 101200's, crower valvesprings/titanium retainers, stainless nitride coated valves, bronze valve guides, and had the head fully ported. All of this is going on a balanced and blueprinted block with scat rods and ross pistons, as well as balance shafts eliminated. I also bought a walbro 255lph pump, rewired it, an aeromotive AFPR, 660cc injectors, and DSMLink to tune everything as well as possible. The turbo is a fully ported evo 3 16G with a ported/ceramic coated exhaust manifold, and full 3" catless, mufflerless exhaust. The motor should be here, all ready to go in in about a week, and i have hit a snag in my plan. By a snag, i mean i found a 95 GSX I could not turn down. It has an Apex FMIC, big T28, greddy ic pipes, full 3" exhaust, 550cc injectors, 190lph pump, safc, 17" tenzo r wheels, 99 headlights, spare 98 GST rims/wheels, spare 7 bolt 1G block and crank, eibach sportlines and tokico adjustable shocks all around, for $3500.The car has tranny issues (like no first gear at all) so that is going out for a shep stage 3 rebuild. Here is my question that i would like to present to all you DSMers out there. I did the entire 97-99 conversion on my GST and repainted it black, it's just waiting on an engine. The GSX is stock bodied, and green. Should i put the gsx's engine in the GST, and sell the GST, putting the forged engine in the GSX? Or, i could prolly keep both, and have the GSX stay like it is power wise, maybe switching the evo 3 16G to it. I am so confused about what to do right now, i have two amazing DSMs (actually 3), a crapload of parts, and little idea of what i should do. Any help is greatly appreciated. I want some opinions. Sorry about the long post. :dsm:

I say put all your gst parts into the gsx. At least thats what id do, seems like you put alot of work into it.

I have put countless hours in to the GST's body, and it looks absolutely amazing. BMW Jet Black, 2Gb bodystyle, it's really making the decision tough. But AWD is soo sweet!

Even though you put a lot of your time and money into the 95 gst. I would still have to say go with the gsx. My buddy drove a gst that he had some work done on, JDM motor swap, turbo and all kinds of new parts. As soon as I launched my tsi once with him in the car he changed his mind immediately. Plus the awd is amazing in the snow. I would have to say just put all of your parts into the gsx. If you put more time and money into the gst your just going to be even more unhappy once you realize you really want awd. At least right now its not to late to change your mind. Just my 2 cents.

Keep the forged motor for the GSX. If you install the motor in the GST and then try to sell it, you're not going to recover the investment you made into the brand new motor. Swap the motors, and sell the GST. If you want a fast car for the streets, the GSX is the way to go. The GST can be fast too (especially top end), but the downside is grip when you have a lot of power. Keeping both would be havoc on your wallet. I've been down the road of having to modded DSMs, and it's a bad idea, unless you like spending most of your free time on a creeper, not to mention any extra money you may have.

Put the built motor in the gsx and keep it as your weekend warrior car. Put the gsx's engine in the gst and keep it as your daily driver.

Thanks for all of the advice guys. I have pretty much made up my mind that I am going to do that. Who needs to look good when you're winning a race. :thumb:

Okay, I have one more quick question for you guys, and would rather not make a new thread for this. I have two clutches sitting here, a Spec stage 3, and an SBR 3500. I want to do the mototune break in method, but if i have to break in the clutch, i won't be able to romp on the motor to break it in. The SBR states that it needs no break in period. So here is my question: Should i just stick in the SBR 3500 and break in the motor, or use the Spec stage 3 and break in the clutch before driving the car like i want?
