Im in the middle of a motor swap, My current motor has a different oil filter bracket with two small pipes. One runs strait up to the coolant pipe on the front of the block and the other runs along the front of the block up to the thermostat housing, as well as a bigger oil filter. My new motor that i bought doesnt have these pipes, as well ea a smaller oil filter. Is it necessary to swap over the stuff from my motor or will it be ok? Here are some pics so you can get a better idea.

that is your oil cooler. you should swap it all over but its not necessary to run looks like your new motor is a nt block or a 90 block judging by the last pic of the oil cooler outlets plugged (cant tell if you have a water hookup for the turbo on your water pipe). weird do you have any back ground on this engine. (90 blocks ran an air to air oil cooler while 91-99 used your water to air set up)

It is easier to just get an air oil cooler and hook it up. It will be more of a pain to make the water setup work. Find a used factory all cooler and be done. Even an aftermarket unit is about $100 good luck

why is it such a pain to swap the oil coolers out? the one off my old block still works. Couldn't i just unbolt it and put it on my new motor?

Ok apparently it is a pain to swap them, have to pull the lower timing cover and all that...Im just gonna run an oil cooler and be done with it.
