This question might have be in one of the threads but i didnt find it.

Alright i have a stock 90 1st G gst. I was looking into getting a Greddy type S bov to replace the stock one. This might be dumb but i want a better sound. I wanted to know if anyone of you had it in their 1st gen or what they are using. I was also wondering about how it would sound if i have it recirculated with the stock piping. I was experimenting with the stock BOV and i disconnected the pipe that connects the bov to the air intake tube. I made a good swoosh sound after i reved the engine but as soon as the rpms went down the car turned off. I was thinking meybe that if i do recirculate the Type S bov, that it will be hush and not make a sound. Or if i dont recirculate it it will just do the same as the stock when i disconnected the big pipe. I appreciate it if you guys help me out.

Thanks
Omar

Ur car turned off after you took the return hose off cause If is supposed to be there. I run a greddy type s on my car and its recirculated and its pretty loud. But there are others out there that are louder. turboxs RFL, hkssv and a few others.

i have a 91 gsx with a greddy rs bov and she is loud as hell. sounds so sweet between shifts and revving. its recirculated so it doesnt have the idle/stall problems regularly experienced with atmospheric venting.

My ssqv recirculated doesn't make much sound. But my friends tell me that they do hear it from the outside at higher rpms.

Anyways, about the sound thingy, it's all personal preference. I like the high pitched ssqv sound so that's why I went with it.

If all your looking for is a better sound go ahead and order a set of hard intercooler piping and a new bov. Even when its recirculated i'm sure you will get more of the sound that your looking for. If thats not enough get the MAFT blow-thru set up, so you won't have to recirculate anymore. Just a few options.
