well i pulled into my driveway and my car started to idle real bad. i checked compression and #3 read zero. this is a built motor and stock head. i took the valvecover and oil pan off and everything looked good. nothing in the pan. i will take the head off today and see whats up.

Good luck, man. :(

How does any valve bend.

Im not trying to argue with you I'm just saying from experience.

no disagreement, the only way i know how to bend a valve is to hit the piston. how would this happen if my timming is good? does this happen alot?

Not sure really.

Off topic but buddy with an 04' RSX Type-S with 8k on it was firing on three cylinders and he had no mods completey stock. His cams kept tightening for some reason. The dealership was baffled. So engines can do some pretty strange things.

check your tensionor belt, on my friends LS honda motor his timing was off slightly with the timing marks in the exact right position and everything, we swapped out his tensionor belt and everything is back to normal. Not saying that this the cause for it, but just check that,

ok so i got my head off today :barf: i uploaded the pics to my profile. i still can't resize them to post in the forums. if someone could help me out and post um it might help. anyway i have no idea how this happened. do you guys? thanks

it looks like something got into my #3 cylinder. like a bb or something. there are dimples all over the top of the piston and on the head inside the chamber. i put some oil in all the cylinders and the seem to all have compression and one valve is stuck open. this stuff sucks :notgood:

Also what do u mean by BB got in your head?

well i guess a piece of weld broke off and got into my cylinder. it looks like it is half the size of a bb. it rattled around alittle dented up the piston and chamber side of the head then got stuck between a exhaust valve and the head. i got the bb thing out and the valve seems to seal. so i am going to put it all back togeather and see if it runs.

i started it up today and let it idle for awhile. then i did a compression test and it the #3 went up to almost 170 :thumb: guess the valve needed to reseal or something. well on a sadder note i might be leaving the ranks of the dsm tuners in about 6 months. i have decided that there are to few aftermarket options for the 420a and i miss rwd. so i will be buying a mr2 soon. anyone want to buy a turbo 420a :rocks:

Not a fan of the 240sx? Or do u just like having people ask you to pop the hood and when you do they are like "where is the engine". I feel ya man, I'll be buying a RWD older car like a 240 or AE86 for my daily beater, but I can't let go of my eclipse just yet. Infact I think I'll end up kepping it as long as I can.
But I feel ya, good luck with ya new project.

i like the weight distribution of the mr2 better. and there are some great motor swaps out there for it. i know the 240 can do the sr20 and rb26 but the mr2 has a na 4 banger a turbo 4 and the swap for a na v6 or a ttv6. and i think the mr2 looks better.

well i drove it today to work. it felt good. i have a little boost leak after putting it back togeather and i did not connect the mid pipe. so the exhaust was dumped from the dp. it sounded loud as hell. and i had like no torque but i could not hear a miss or anything. :thumb:
