I finally finished everything up friday, but when i started the car it ran for a few seconds and began to bog down and eventually died. I'm pretty sure i had my inlets and outlets backwards, when i switched the two around, it didnt bog down anymore but its got an oil leak coming from the flextube in the exhaust i made, so it's pushing oil out the hotside of the turbo. The adapeter plate for the turbo's oil return line has a small hole in it, it's roughly the size of the oil line it's self, should i use a larger adapter and use reducers to get it down to the size of the line so it could have a larger drain area? Or do you think there is another problem here that i could be missing? I have the inlet for the oil running to the the port with the smaller hole, and the larger port is hooked up to the return line. Any help would be appreciated.

You want the hole in the return line flange to be the same size as the flange. It it's leaking oil from either of the turbines, it sounds like you blew a seal in the turbocharger.

is their any way of checking if the seal is blown without removing the turbo?

Sure, you can check for play in the shaft. You can also look for other sources of oil in your exhaust in order to definitively identify its source. For instance, do a compression/leak-down test. If the results aren't good, you know the oil is probably coming from the head instead of the turbo.

Okay, i changed my outlet so it has the largest diameter adapter, and i'm still running into the same problem i had before. I started my car, and it wasnt running the greatest, when i gave it throttle the oil pressure got pretty high, at 3000-3500 RPM my oil psi was at 80. The car started to smoke pretty bad again, so i shut it off and looked under it and it was leaking oil out of the flextube in the exhaust again. Is my oil seal in the turbo blown? I measured my oil restictor and it came to be .080 and my oil return at it's smallest size is the size of the oil return line.
i really dont know what else to try, you're help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I would put my money on the turbo being shot, but did you do a compression/leak-down test just for good measure? A compression test is such a simple test, you might as well do it to potentially rule out the turbocharger.

no, i didnt because a compression test wouldnt make sense to me why there's oil in the exhaust after the turbo and never before.
is there a way of rebuilding this turbo, or should i scrap it and order a new one?
and if i should get a new one, what turbo would you recommend

Oh, ok, you didn't mention that you checked before the turbo for oil. I agree with you in that case.

If your profile is accurate, T3/T4's can usually be rebuilt. There are tons of rebuild kits floating around online, though I would opt to have it rebalanced when you're done.

it is a t3/t4, but it is an ebay turbo. i called the company, and the turbo is still under warrenty and i can send it in and they said they would ship me a new one.
