420A Too much boost

Just got the turbo setup on my 420a wastegate spring is a claimed 7psi on my gauge I'm reading 10psi while shifting early installed my boost controller turned all the way down seems like it's still making 10psi any advise?

Remove the boost controller and try again. If it still makes 10 psi, you'll need to switch out the spring (if possible).

Can I cut a link out of the spring or weaken it?

Ended up being to springs in my wastegate, pulled one out now boosting about 6psi which is much better and I can live with

Black spring is usually 6/7psi in waste gate/blowoff valve.
