Personally i think it would be flippin awesome, if you could mate a 3g 3.0 to a 4g63 trans. An all motor awd v6 dsm... thats just me though. Love the sound of those motors
Is it possible to take a 2G AWD DSM and put a 1G non turbo 4g63 in it and have a non turbo awd 2g?
i like some of the ideas. other ideas not so much like takin the turbo off my car. im not doing this to my car.... i love my turbo. i would just like to do something that obviously not many people are doing it. and the car would never be raced it dont need to have a bunch of power. as for the galant awd n/a thats defeating the purpose of the eclipse gsx body... the 4g64 sounds good, and u can put 4g63 heads on it or no? they have the awd galant n/a so why is it so dumb to make a awd eclipse n/a with the same motor..... call me out on being a noob or whatever you want
it doesnt change a thing. again thanks for all the replies. if i ever get around to doing this ill be sure to post it on the web for people to check out or to hate on it
Not trying to knock anyone's ideas here. The reason everyone is going to start flaming is because the question posed is against the idea of visiting a performance oriented site. It isn't a question really of if an awd car has to have a turbo, of coarse it doesn't. It doesn't even have to be fast, but people come here because they want to go fast Ricky Bobby style.
Now as far as the OP is concerned, I'm assuming you're asking because you have a motor from a N/T 1g in the garage, and either have or have access to a 2g awd shell and want to know if the swap will be easy and cost efficient? If that is the question, then what kind of budget are you interested in. That is where you'll find your answer. If you want a $500 conversion just to have a car that runs and drives, I doubt you will do it.
If you want to spend some cash and time and just have something unique, then I would probably look at doing something that won't confuse people but make them interested. Worlds first hybrid 2g, or perhaps a 4 cylinder cummins swap. Just a couple off the top of my head.
PS, I really don't think the muscle car guys need another slow 4 cylinder on the road to laugh at and justify the old displacement motto...

Just use a ecu from a 2.4 spyder
and adjust things in the area's of the maps that it actualy would hit at the lower airflow of on a N/a motor...
the thing turned into a beast. It was fun running NA for a little while but I would never go back.
. id just like to have the turbo awd and the na awd but the same car. and the 4g64 with dohc head sounds nice. thanks for all the feedback i got way more replies then i thought i would although they werent all positive but thanks anyways to all of you.
