I NEED SOME ADVICE ON MY TURBO...!! I have a evo3 turbo that is blown, now i have another evo3 turbo but this one has a crack on the hot side were the exhaust manifold bolts on to..!!! My question is can i just take the hot side from the blown one and replace it for the the one that is cracked?

Of course! It's very easy to do. Just unbolt that clamp and remove the housing from the center-section. They don't both have to be a big or small 16g. As long as they're TD05H turbos, the turbines are the same, as well as the exhaust housings (disregarding the size of the inlet/outlets).

thanks for the help

ok another thing is that i found out that the turbo i just got is ported...! also when i got the hot side off the turbo the ported one is a bit covered with oil...! any opinions? i got more pictures of it

They swap. It's easy. Takes 5 minutes or less.

The turbo with the o2 housing attached in your photo is an Evo III 16G, the other is not...unless someone put an Evo III CHRA into a standard 7cm turbine housing.

It's a give-or-take....the standard 7cm housing is ported, the Evo III housing is not; the Evo III housing has a larger turbine housing outlet, however, so be sure your o2 housing is ported to match or you'll have a huge bottleneck.

That crack isn't bad at all, I'd probably just run it anyway.

ok another thing people... since the turbo is ported... will the stock gasket that goes in between the turbo and the exhaust manifold make my car run crappy i mean im just saying cause the hole on the hot side of the turbo is alot bigger and it seems like it wont flow through right... now my question is... can i trim the edge of the gasket to match the turbo size or will it leak?

I have trimmed a gasket before and the car ran fine without leaking, I have also put rtv silicone on exhaust gaskets before to ensure no leakage.
