since venting the BOV makes the car run rich at shifts and can cause problems I found a way to make the BOV sound louder while still returning and using the stock MAF, just go to home depot or autozone and get a pipe with a slightly smaller diameter then the Rubber return pipe and replace as much of the rubber return pipe as possible, that way when the BOV opens the air will hit the metal pipe causing a louder vibration then it hitting a rubber hose which dampens the sound, if you can find a way to bend the pipe the air will hit the pipe more directly and be a little louder then if it was straight, I did this on my friends GSX and it sounds great, def. more noticeable, I am planning on doing this to my car after I get a new MAF, James.
Congrats man. I hate to burst your bubble but it has been done before. If you want to make your spool up louder for cheap you can do relatively the same thing with your intake pipe and cut the stock rubber one as well.
