I was doing some theoretical engine calculations and fudging the results by comparing to dyno plots. I created a matrix listing the airflow (lb/min) , Boost(psi), and RPM that will acheive a given amount of power on a 2.0L turbocharged engine. On our engines, I assumed a SMIM/Cams for power levels above 450 Crank HP, and only cams for levels above 400 Crank HP.

For Standard Pump Gas (91-93 Octane)
BHp Whp Airflow Boost RPM
500 450 48-50 25-26 7600-7800
475 425 46-48 24-25 7200-7600
450 400 44-45 24-25 6800-7200
425 375 42-43 22-24 6800-7000
400 350 39-40 21-22 6700-6900
375 325 37-38 19-20 6600-6800
350 300 34-36 18-19 6500-6700

Lets play a game.

You tell me how much airflow, boost and at what RPM, and I'll guess the horsepower you made (+/- 15whp). You should have a verifed dyno number to play.

I wanna play! I just got a new log off Dsmlink yesterday

Airflow = 43lb/min
Boost = 15-17 psi
RPM = 5580 (don't know why i didn't redline it)

????

43 lb/min at only 15-17psi!!! with only 5500RPM.

That's just about impossible for mildy built 2.0. Are you sure your airflow reading is right?
