i have a 99 gst automatic

i need an ecu can i just plug and play an ecu from another year?

can anyone help

You will want to get one from a 97, 98 or 99 as they are plug and play for you. If you get one from a 95 or 96 you will need to swap the plug wires. At the ignition coil, you will need to put 1 where 4 is and where where 1 is and then switch 2 and 3 so 3 is on 2 and 2 is on 3.

On a 99 2G turbo the ECUs are the same manual or automatic and there are slight differences between the AWD and FWD ECUs. The 98 and 99 ECUs are flashable so you might want to stick with one of them.
