i don't know if the hyundai excel is consider a dsm or not but i did recall people throwing in a eclipse motor in a few before, besides the had the mitsubishi logo all over it. well this is my winter beater and right before the snow storm the distributor broke. the distributor lost 3 tooths on the gear that goes into the engine. nothing else is broke. well i took it out and replaced it with a new distributor and cap. i don't know exactly the way it goes in or how the markings line up. i've been searching and can't find anything on this little info on how to put the distributor back in. sorry if this is not the place to post this question but i am in desperate need of help. thanks in advance.

Dude, that is far from a DSM. DSM's don't even have distributors. And if you only chipped teeth off the gear, you can simply replace the gear as apposed to the entire distributor, cap, and rotor.

Nevertheless, this site is for 4G63 and 420a performance, and this thread doesn't apply to either. If you're unsure about it's re-installation, then seek a professional mechanic.
