I an building a 4G64, and I came across these type of piston. They are from the Evo X, just want people's input on these before I purchase. What can they hold towards boost and hp. Im looking for 500hp.

From what I read about hypereutectic pistons, after 2hp per CI you need to upgrade to forged. They are extremely sensitive to detonation and heat treated to t6 strength will only last the first 100 hours before the temper leaves the aluminum.

Ill do more research and report back.

That rule of thumb only pertains to V8 engines. Us DSMers routinely make up to 4hp/ci on cast pistons, which is something a V8 can't reliably do.

As far as strength goes, hypereutectic pistons are right in between cast and forged. So, those Evo X pistons are better than what we got from the factory, but not as strong as a forged aftermarket like CP, Wiseco, JE, etc...

I wouldn't really put a boost/HP limit on a piston, but in my opinion, they should do just fine at 500 HP.
