My question is can i use a holset hx40 with the bullseye exhaust housing, bolt up to a 1st gen dsm???? to my understanding it will just want to make sure before i go buying stuff..

I would like to know this also. Since used hx40's are always on ebay. There seems to be a few variations of the hx40. Some on the pics I have seen have different numbers of blades visible on the compressor(6 or 8).

Yes, you can bolt an HX-40 to our Mitsubishi turbine housing which will fit a 1st or 2nd gen. However, it must be a "bolt down" style turbocharger. The newer 2003 and up came with a V-Band clamp style bearing housing, this V-Band style will not work. There are several different HX-40 cartridges that will work, they will all have different compressor wheels for different HP ranges. The complete turbo that we sell on our website is the largest.

I would think that you guys would like the HX35 or HY 35 better. Having used both in Diesel applications the Hy35 spools like lightnening compared to the HX40 but Im pretty sure any Hx turbo's will be laggy on our cars but I could be wrong. The HX40 is capible of 40 PSI on a diesel truck and the HX35 capible of 30+.

That's because the HX has a 12 cmsq housing and the HY has a 9. The HY is NOT compatable with the Bullseye housing.

Unless the guys over there at Bullseye can design an adapter that will allow the HY cartridge to bolt to their housing. Further expanding the potential of their housing. *Hint, Hint*

That would be something for engineering to look at. However, at the moment they are tied up working on some other new products. **Hint** **Hint**

i woul go with the 35 also.. the hx 35- 50 is farly common on track cars here in sweden 40 and up is usually used on atleast 2,5-3 l motors the 40 is pretty laggy i can sure u about that , but i have seen hx 50;s on 2 .0 engines too , but they needed about 5.7 seconds to build boost before it could strat

HX50 on a 4 banger 2.0 :barf: I couldn't even image the lag I had one on my 600 HP + diesel truck and the lag was sickening. Has anyone looked at the schweitzer thats what Im running now on my truck its called the B1 bonber series and they move some serious air.

basically looking for the a/r ratios and has anyone used a hx40 on a 4g63? what was the lag like???? trying to find out what lag will be so i can order my torque converter

I'm planning on using a Holset H1C (older version of hx35) in a bullseye housing, and I have a friend who just bought a HX40 to use also. The compressor map for the hx35 is practically the same as a 60-1.

Are you talking about v-band outlet for the exhaust housing? If so i was interested in doing that because iv heard of people using that.

Whats your website so i can look for a good hx40. :dsm:

Not exactly, cause 35 has smaller turbine wheel. The HX-35 housing is stamped TMH1, while the HX-40 housing is marked TMH2. They are both great turbos, but if I was you, I would go with HX-40.Why don't you go to Holset threads in Turbo system tech forum??? Just read.
