I just got done putting a replacement tranny in my '96 N/T Automatic. I go to start it up the first time and I have this huge whining noise on the driver's side, right behind the heat shield. Whatever that plate is that looks like two circles put together (sorry for not knowing the name of it), that's where it's coming from. It only happens during acceleration and sounds like an extremely loud siren. Obviously I stopped driving it immediately. But, the other kicker is that there is a clicking sound that occurs in the tranny right where the electrical/data hookups are. It happens exactly every 10 seconds. And, to make things worse, after only 3-5 minutes of the car sitting idle and running, the radiator is too hot to even touch. The plastic top is roasting hot. Any ideas? I'm a the end of my knowledge so I'm hoping you guys have some suggestions. Sorry for the long post, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
