I was wondering if anyone ever heard of these coilovers and I was wondering how well do they function. I would like to put them on my 2g GST. Right now all I have are the stock springs with KYB GR2's.

"NRG Adjustable Coilovers. The NRG coilover kit is specifically designed to be used with factory or aftermarket shocks, so you get full adjustability of a true coilover, for much less cost! You get the ability to lower your car to the exact drop you want with these adjustable coilover sleeves. You would need to simply turn the adjusting nut to lower the vehicle. Adjustments can be made in only minutes! Want to slam your car for a show? No problem! Need to raise it back up for daily driving? No problem! NRG Coilovers aren't only for looks. These coilovers provide increased stability and performance for both street driving, and track. Since they are primarily designed to be used on the street, they offer a comfortable ride, and are a great coilover kit for daily driving. Each NRG coilover kit comes with all necessary hardware, and an adjustment tool."

"From the first gen 1G Mitsubishi Eclipse to the 3rd Gen 3G Mitsubishi Eclipse, NRG has a coilover kit for you. The 1G (First Gen) Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon, and Plymouth Laser are part of the DSM family, and share the same suspension setup. This coilover kit will work on all trims of the 1G, turbo, non turbo and AWD. For the 2G (Second Gen) Mitsubishi Eclipse and Eagle Talon, this coilover kit will also work on any trim level from the base to the top of the line AWD Turbo. This system will work on the factory shocks, but due to added spring rates, and age of the DSM, we recommend to either replace your shocks with new replacements, or get aftermarket performance shocks."

Personally, i wouldnt trust a $100 coilover kit knowing that on average, a decent coilover kit is $800 + +. I would look at going with tein.. or some other known brand that has a good reputation.

these are just a spring and perch set. I had a similar set on my *cough*honda*cough* a few years back and the big downside is you cant adjust spring rate *very much*, only ride height. and there is usually no pre-load on the springs so at the top of your suspension travel your springs at just flopping around.

so basically the only thing these will do is lower the car??? im looking for the cheapest and best way to make my suspension stiffer because its hard as hell to race a car with cadillac-like suspension.

Well first thing you can do is get rid of those gawdy heacy chrome 18's get a set of ractory 16's and then start to save for a good suspension.

well actually they are 19s, LOL. but when i race i use the stock 2g wheels. I dont do any street racing so when im just cruising i like my car to look nice, i dont really care for the look of the stocks but they are about 10 times lighter so i use them when i race. I wanna get a good lsd insert and some drag radials after i get my suspension straight but everytime I get enough money to start upgrading "BAM" i have to replace something. should i just go with some eibach lowering springs or what? i just want a really stiff ride so my car will not squat as bad when I launch.

I would be careful with coil over setups such as the ones you have pictured. Alot of the time the spring rates aren't vehicle specific, basically one size fits all to keep the costs nice & cheep. Problem with this is it can lead to a horrible ride. I had a buddy who put a cheap set of coilovers like this on his civic back in the day & ran stock shocks. It was the worst riding car I have ever ridden in. Spring rate was way too high & stock shocks were way too soft. If your looking for a cheeper coilover that will still give you a proper ride, check out ground control. If you don't need adjustability, there are a good amount of lower springs out there will will give you a much better ride & are resonably priced as well. Link to ground control:

Did anyone ever endup using these? I don't want to put much money into my car so these and some springline struts might happen for me soon unless someones got a horror story

I would trust coilovers from a company that states:

NRG Adjustable Coilovers. The NRG coilover kit is specifically designed to be used with factory or aftermarket shocks

Just get some good springs like some H&R's or Eibach's.

Amen to that. On my old 97 GSX I had a set of Skunk 2 spring/sleeve coilovers with Tokico blue shocks - worst ride ever. I went with a Tein SS set up on my Talon and wish I would've gone with the Tein Flex. A full spring/damper coilover kit is going to be significantly higher priced, but well worth it in terms of adjustability and ride quality.
