how to tell if a 4g63 is out of time

I put my car in time for the first time and there is no power. It bulge out and only goes to 2000 Rpm and sounds like its at 4000. I couldn'

It needs to line up perfect and the oil pump needs to be in sync as well.

Crank it over by hand with the spark plugs out and make sure all the timing marks line up. If you don't have balance shaft's the oil pump gear does not "have" to line up, but it is nice to have it line up. If you have balance shafts, then yes the oil pump has to be alined as well.

Then it isn't in time. Turn it clockwise until the crank lines up. Within six revolutions of the crank the others line up also. If not it isn't in time.

+2...If i were you i wouldnt even turn it on until you're 100% sure its timed.

then move on to ignition timing if u have a 1g cas. line up the timing mark from the crank to the timing mark on the oil pump. like posted earlier if you do not have balance shafts the oil pump sprocket doesnt matter. one the timing mark on the crank is lines up check the timing marks on the cam gears. the timing mark should be at your 9 oclock position on the intake xam and the 3 oclock position on the exhaust cam. keep in mind thhat botcj cam dowels need to be at the 12 o clocl position. if this is correct. i would check make sure your ignition timing is on if u have a 1g adjustable cas
