I got a spare cover and had it bead blasted. I have seen some really cool covers over the last several months and would like to know my options. I would like the cover to be black with polished lettering, but how to do it? Any other ideas/options? Thanks, Mark

polish the letters, tape them off then paint the rest with high temp paint. Or if you have the access/funds to do it, get it powder coated.

I sanded, 3 coats of primer, 3 coats of paint, 2 coats of clear, and then I just sanded off the paint on the raised lettering with a block. Made the whole process alot easier and didn't turn out too shabby.

I did the same when it came to the lettering. When it came to paint I used some epoxy primer followed by 3 coats of single stage purple. Then I wet sanded the paint off the letters and buffed them up real quick. It is still holding up over a year later.

Also I would definately make sure that you get every bit of blast media out of the cover with an air gun.

That about sums up the process if you arent going get it powdercoated.
I would use a self-etching primer (1-2 coats) if you just had it blasted.
