What can i use to read my CEL, can I make a volt meter or something like that ,I dont know I'm lost

I use a cheap multimeter. Under the dash drivers side, there is the plug. It's white with a black rubber cover. There is 12 prongs, (from what I can remember, because I am to Lazy to go look outside):p I set the multimeter to millvoltsDC and place the probe ends on term 1 and on term 12. My multimeter make a beep sound when it is overloaded. Beacuse it is in millivoltsDC and it is reading around 12.5voltsDC. Count the beeps they will Beep long, have a pause and then beep short. EX: BEEEEEEEEEEP....BEEEEEEEEEEP................BEEP.........=21
Sometimes they will throw multiple CELs at once so let it run threw the cycle a few times. I hope this helps.:thumb:
