Yeah you have to unpack it and then configure ECUFlash. Are you sure you want to try your hand at flashing if you can't figure out a .zip file? I'm not trying to be a dick, you should just really consider what it is you're doing here..

Yea he kinda has a point LOL. Theres noone near you that has exp with this that you know (STI/EVO owners use the program as well) but yea you just install 7zip or winzip and right click the .rar File and extract it to your desktop.

alright guys, i figured most of everything out except for one thing, where does the hex file go?
I extracted the xml file to the eclipse folder, that is correct right?

hex files go wherever you want them to. They are the image that goes on your ecu. Personally I would NOT put them in the metadata folder because it can become very confusing when you are trying to edit either the rom or the definitions. What I do with mine is to create a roms folder in my user are (my documents more or less) and then create subfolders for each car, and if necessary subfolders in those for alternate setups (for cars that switch injectors, air metering, or other large items often), then I use a naming convention that specifies my personal rom revision number, (rev1, rev2, rev3...revn) as well as what might be particularly useful (e85, gas, summer, winter).

Make your own naming conventions as you like so long as it makes sense to you.

Yea i put the hex file in my documents in its own folder, and il be running two tunes, one for e85 and one for 93 octane, so that will work perfectly for me.
